Shiv Lata Memorial Scholarship

The Shiv Lata free education scholarship, a Nobel initiative by Shiv Lata Memorial School has emerged as an inspiration and the hope for a student from below poverty line.

Established in the memory of Late Siba Narayan Pradhan and Nirlata Pradhan, this scholarship provided an opportunity to pursue quality education without the financial burden of school fees. Shiv Lata free education scholarship offers free education from class VI to class VIII. This scholarship empowers students to realise their full potential and pursue their dreams with confidence.

The scholarship provides the student opportunity to study for free at Shiv Lata Memorial School from class VI to class VIII. The scholarship targets students from BPL families offering them a chance at a brighter future through education expenses.

The students are required to appear for examinations on a given date, where they must solve a 100 marks question paper covering English, mathematics, environmental science and general knowledge.

The Shiv Lata free education scholarship was first launched on March 3rd 2021 with Master Manzil Chhetri and Master Anmol Rai becoming the inaugural recipients. These two bright students were selected for the Shiv Lata free education scholarship.

The scholarship is supported by the family members of the Late Siba Narayan Pradhan and Nirlata pradhan. Siba Narayan Pradhan, fondly called Shiva gurubau, was a respected teacher and former headmaster of Kumari Pema Tsedeun Secondary School. This scholarship honours his dedication towards education and supports students from economically disadvantaged background marking important steps in expanding educational opportunities.

The Shiv Lata free education scholarship has continued to thrive since its inception on february 26,2022 the second edition honoured Master Jeedan Mishra and Miss Narkiss Begum. In 2023 the third shiv Lata free education scholarship was awarded to MasterAwakash Mishra and Miss Astina thami.

The fourth Shiv Lata free education scholarship event in 2024, another momentous occasion, where Master Ayush Kumar Prasad and Miss Edlina Subba were recognized for their exceptional performance in the scholarship exam.

The fifth Shiv Lata Free educational scholarship awarded in 2025, went to Master Arluv Gurung and Miss Yankey Gurung. Each year the program recognize and nurtures exceptional talents. The Shiv Lata free education scholarship ensures all children regardless of their social economic states with quality education transforming lives and proving the way for a brighter future.
